The Chinese Ambassador has informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that starting January 17, 2023, passengers entering China must have a negative PCR test result within 48 hours before departure and bring a printed copy of the results. The results must be in Vietnamese, Chinese, or English and passengers must wear a face mask during the flight. Airlines are responsible for checking the test results and Chinese customs may conduct additional checks upon entry. The Consular Department is asking the listed Vietnamese agencies to disseminate this information to ensure safe travel for Vietnamese citizens and will keep them updated on any changes to pandemic prevention measures.

Receiving Official Letter No. 5077/LS-QHLS dated December 30, 2022 on China’s epidemic prevention and control policy, the Consular Department would like to discuss as follows:
The Chinese Ambassador sent a Diplomatic note dated January 16, 2023 to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informing that from January 17, 2023, passengers entering China need to have a negative PCR test result within 48 hours before departure (specify the name of the person doing the test, the date, month, year of birth and the number of the identification document); if the test results are electronic, they need to be printed out and brought along; language is Vietnamese, Chinese or English; use face mask during the flight.
Airlines flying to China will be in charge of checking passengers negative PCR test results, while Chinese customs will check on the spot upon entry depending on the situation.
The Consular Department would like to inform your agencies, widely disseminate this regulation to ensure safe travel for our citizens and will continue to promptly inform when China adjusts the pandemic prevention measures.
