This is the first vaccine approved in Vietnam on February 1, 2021.
Produced by AstraZeneca Corporation, it has been licensed for emergency use in 181 countries and territories and has been included in the list of emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO). AstraZeneca was approved by Vietnam on February 1, 2021 and has been vaccinated since March 2021, currently having the most use in Vietnam. This is a vaccine produced by vector technology, using 2 doses 8-12 weeks apart.
- Gam-COVID-Vac (SPUTNIK V)
Produced by Gamaleya Research Institute, Russia has been licensed for use in 70 countries and territories. The vaccine was given in 2 doses 3 weeks apart and was approved by the Ministry of Health on March 23, 2021.
- Vero Cell (Sinopharm)
The Vero Cell vaccine was developed by Sinopharm and Beijing Institute of Biological Products Co. Ltd – Made in China, licensed for use in 64 countries, territories. This vaccine is produced by virus inactivation technology, injected in 2 doses 3-4 weeks apart was approved by the Ministry of Health on June 3, 2021.
- Comirnaty (Pfizer / BioNTech)
The Pfizer has been licensed for use in 111 countries and territories. This vaccine was approved by the Ministry of Health on June 16, 2021 using 2 injections 3-4 weeks apart.
- Spikevax (Modena)
The Spikevax (Moderna) vaccine manufactured by Moderna has been licensed for use in 64 countries and territories. This vaccine is also produced based on mRNA technology, using 2 doses 4 weeks apart. The Ministry of Health has conditionally approved this vaccine for the urgent need in COVID-19 prevention and control on June 28, 2021.
- Janssen (Johnson & Johnson)
J&J is licensed for use in 56 countries and territories. The vaccine is produced using virus vector technology, using a single dose. The Ministry of Health conditionally approved this vaccine for the urgent need in COVID-19 prevention and control on July 15, 2021.
- Hayat – Vax
Hayat – Vax vaccine is produced by Beijing Institute of Biological Products Co., Ltd., under China National Biotec Group (CNBG), China. The Ministry of Health has issued a conditional approval for this vaccine on September 10, 2021 for the urgent need in COVID-19 disease prevention and control.
- Abdala Vaccine
