While Vietnam is an enticing destination for starting businesses, the Business Visa may not be the best choice for long-term residency. With over 32 visa categories available, selecting the right one can feel like navigating a labyrinth, potentially leading to frustrating dead ends, as experienced by a European couple I’ll share with you.
Picture this: A Greek wife and her German husband embark on a trip to Vietnam. She secures a one-month tourist visa, while he enjoys a 45-day visa waiver due to his nationality. However, fate takes a sharp turn when the husband sustains an injury requiring extended hospitalization. In this challenging moment, his wife faces a bureaucratic hurdle: her tourist visa cannot be extended electronically. The solution? She must exit Vietnam to reapply for a new visa. Consequently, she hastily journeys to Cambodia and reenters Vietnam with a fresh visa, incurring unexpected expenses while her husband remains unaffected.
This tale underscores the importance of selecting the appropriate visa to avoid unnecessary complications. In this video, we’ll unravel the complexities of Vietnam’s visa landscape, offering insights into the most relevant visa options for your specific needs. Whether you’re a traveler, professional, retiree, or prospective expatriate, we’ve got you covered. Let’s ensure visas become facilitators, not barriers, to your Vietnamese adventures.

Great video, and very informative. As a tourist, I was considering applying for an “up to 5 years” ( I can only get three because of Passport renewal). Is this the best way to go? I plan a 2-week trip in December of 2024, a 1-month visit in March 2025, then back again in December, and so on. And how do I get the approval letter?
